History

At Home Group™ was founded by local volunteers and philanthropists. Through their previous work with the homeless community of the Twin Cities, they learned about some of the difficulties that individuals who are homeless face when seeking employment. Many times, they heard from individuals who had the drive and determination to work, but could not afford the uniforms or tools required to start the job. There were others who had great ideas for micro-businesses, but they did not have the guidance and start-up capital to begin. A number of discussions took place surrounding these topics, and through these discussions, At Home Group™ was founded in 2005. Our programs have evolved since that time to meet the changing needs of the homeless population, but our goal has remained the same: to foster self-sufficiency among homeless, precariously housed and highly mobile adults.
